I got a poor Siamese cat who was 16 pounds when I got her. Poor thing couldn't even jump one foot. Two years of dieting and she was half that and able to get around much better, although she was left with permanent mobility issues. At least now she can get on my bed. People who do this to their pets don't realize the huge permanent toll it takes on their bodies. Even if they lose the weight, they'll never be the same again due to damaged joints.

The problem is the owner most of the times.

I now have (foster to own) an overweight spade hip challenged dog. She was over 10 pds, now 8.7, 3 years later. Vet said overweight before hips developed. She gets around - NO PROBLEM lololol. 1 cup a day with complaints! Exercise is difficult her hips tire easily.

I have no idea how people can foster. I wouldn’t be able to let go the animal

You know you people are full of hot air could have said it nasty but I'm sure little ones watch this on yt. I don't know what happened to him and neither do you. Many scenarios you can dream up but you don't have the truth. Many elderly and disabled have a furry pet they love they can't get out can't move around have no help. People pass on no one wants their pet. I don't think this was intentional I think the person who had him used food as love. As you can see at least he had a good ending so many others don't.
